getting our hopes up.

Marty has a knack for getting his hopes up. He may act all sly and as if he doesn't want it- but he REALLY does.

When we applied for the Pittsburgh gig- he was
  • looking at houses
  • translating the cost of living
  • laying out the pro's and con's
  • working up a budget so I could stay home for a while and
  • just really wanting to get the gig.

*sigh*

We didn't get it. Some dude in Gresham, Oregon got it and the whole process was just messed up. Marty was supposed to be on the panel. He wasn't. He called HR and then he WAS on the panel. The staff at Pitt called the staff at Marty's current office to do a reference check. He got a phone interview and then we waited- and waited and waited. I wish the Feds would have the courtesy of calling all the folks they PHONE interviewed to at least let them off the hook. *geeesh*

well- now we have applied for a position in Willmington, Ohio and we're going thru the same process listed above. The position closed on today and hopefully it moves quickly and we'll know something by March 1.

*fingers crossed
